Who are McCain’s supporters?

It seems that every day, Senator McCain loses supporters from the conservative base. It turns out that McCain has now lost Christopher Hitchens and Christopher Buckley – Hitchens some of you may know from his recent book God is Not Great, and has been an outspoken supporter for the War in Iraq.
That’s right- McCain has lost the endorsement of someone who really, really, really thought the War in Iraq was a good idea.
Recently, George Will wrote a rather scathing article about how McCain has been acting. Even Michelle Malkin wrote about how upset she was with McCain’s latest mortgage plan.
One by one, McCain has been losing his supporters. The Daily Dish’s Andrew Sullivan, who I consider more libertarian than conservative, has written about how he dispairs of the anti-intellectualism from conservatives, demonstrated by Governor Palin.
So who does McCain have left in his pocket? Is it just the ignorant and the angry, as seen in some videos?
Or is it just those who love Governor Palin more than they love Senator McCain? More and more I’ve been seeing from Republicans how much they love Senator Palin and are souring on McCain.
Is that all that McCain has left? Those still afraid that Obama’s still a Muslim (which he’s not, not that there’s anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld would say), or those who hope to see a Palin presidency? The intellectuals of the conservative party seem to be abandoning him. His own base is souring on him. So – seriously, who’s left?
