Global warming benefit: Hello, NorthWest Passageway!
Posted by John Hummel on December 2, 2008
Ah, the much fabled NorthWest passageway – the mythical ocean way that would have connected Europe and Asia with a quick, easy boat trip over North America. Turns out there was a big hunk of ice up there, so that idea was nixed.
Until now. With global warming on the rise, there’s enough ice melting to make shipments over the north pole easy for oil companies and big shipping companies. So, sure, the rest of the world will go to hell in a hand basket – but hey, we’ll be able to get goods cheaper from those areas that haven’t burned to a crisp!
