Zero to Racist in Nothing Flat!

Posted by John Hummel on October 21, 2008

So how long did it take horrible awful people (HAPs) to decide that the only reason that Colin Powell was endorsing Obama was because they were both black?

I mean, it couldn’t have been all of those things he said about how he didn’t like how Senator McCain handled the economic crisis, or McCain’s reaction to the Russian actions against Georgia, or how McCain was using pretty dirty tactics trying to tie Obama to Ayers.

Nope – it’s got to be because he’s black. You’ve got Ms. Michelle Malkin saying the Powell was just an affirmative action candidate:

The ONLY reason Powell is voting for Obama is color… period. The fact that Obama is going to follow anti-white, liberation theology is just icing on the cake. Most blacks hate whites… it is axiomatic, and the liberals are opening up the chicken coop and maybe the prisons and definately my wallet.

Ms. Malkin isn’t the only HAP out there. You’ve got Rush Limbaugh who says Powell’s only doing it for the race reasons:

OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I’ll let you know what I come up with.

Well, if he had endorsed Governor Palin, then maybe you’d have something. Of course, you can’t forget one of the biggest HAP’s out there, Mr. Pat Buchanan’s

Buchanan: Alright, we gotta ask a question, look would Colin Powell be endorsing Obama if he were a white liberal democrat…

Yes, it’s the same reason why other conservatives like Buckley and Chuck Hagel and Hitchens support Obama. Secretly, they must all be black too – they’re just covering it up better with makeup or something.

Yeah. That’s got to be it.

The full transcript of the Powell interview

Posted by John Hummel on October 19, 2008

For those who want the text version, here’s the full Meet the Press transcript of the Colin Powell interview. Of all of the parts, this probably clinches the interview:

On the Obama side, I watched Mr. Obama and I watched him during this seven-week period. And he displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge and an approach to looking at problems like this and picking a vice president that, I think, is ready to be president on day one. And also, in not just jumping in and changing every day, but showing intellectual vigor. I think that he has a, a definitive way of doing business that would serve us well. I also believe that on the Republican side over the last seven weeks, the approach of the Republican Party and Mr. McCain has become narrower and narrower. Mr. Obama, at the same time, has given us a more inclusive, broader reach into the needs and aspirations of our people. He’s crossing lines–ethnic lines, racial lines, generational lines. He’s thinking about all villages have values, all towns have values, not just small towns have values.

Powell outside the studio endorsing Obama

Posted by John Hummel on October 19, 2008

I think this clip might be even more devastating than what I’m watching right now on Meet the Press.
